Q How do we book?
A Once you’ve decided on your preferred dates, please select that date on the availability calendar and follow the booking process through.
Q How can I pay?
A As you progress through the booking process, you will be prompted to specify how you wish to pay. We accept payment by debit and credit card, bank transfer, Paypal and cheque. All payment methods incur no additional charge. For bank transfers from non UK countries the customer will be liable for any transfer costs.
Q When do I pay the booking deposit and when is the final payment due?
A To secure your holiday, a 25% deposit is required with the balance payable 8 weeks before your arrival date. As we require the full payment for your holiday cottage 8 weeks before arrival, if your booking is made within this time frame then the full amount will be payable at the time of booking.
Q Do you send reminders for balances?
A No, we don’t as the date for the final balance is given on your acknowledgement from. But, don’t worry though, if you forget, we will phone or email to remind you.
Q What are the Terms and conditions of hire?

Q Can I bring my dog with me?
A No, sorry. Pets are not allowed. This is because we have 3 dogs of our own, and lots of hens.
Q When should I arrive?
A Anytime after 4pm on your day of arrival.

Q Can I arrive early?
A Occasionally it may be possible with prior permission to arrange an earlier arrival time.
Q What if we don’t arrive until very late in the evening?
A That is fine. Directions will be given with details of where to find the key.
Q When should be depart?
A You will be expected to leave in the morning on the day of departure by 10am.
Q Linen - what is provided?
A All bedroom, kitchen & bathroom linen is provided. However, remember to bring your own beach towels. Bedding for the travel cot is not provided.
Q Are there any additional charges?
A All heating, lighting, parking are including in the price quoted. Your first basket of logs are free of charge and thereafter a charge of £3 per basket is asked.
Q Will I get directions to Windover Farm Cottage?

Q Is Wifi available in the cottage?
A FREE wifi is available for use but please note we are in a rural location which means WiFi can be SLOW and is
usually only suitable for reading emails, researching places to visit and checking the weather
Q How will I get the keys to my cottage?
A The cottage will be unlocked and available for you to help yourselves on your day of arrival.
Q Do I have to recycle household rubbish?
A Oh, yes please. Full instructions on recycling are available in the welcome booklet and may well be slightly different to those you are used to at home.
Q Is there a dishwasher?
A Yes a slimline dishwasher is in the kitchen
Q What size is the fridge and freezer?
A There is a separate fridge and freezer. Both are ‘under the counter’ size and are located in the kitchen
Q Is there a BBQ which can be borrowed?
A Sorry, no. It is very difficult to keep a BBQ clean and respectable. So, we’ve decided to withdrawn the offer of a BBQ. However, I have a supply of disposable and bucket bbqs which are available to purchase (between £5 - £10). Or you are welcome to bring your own.
Q Is there central heating as well as a log burner?
A The cottage is fitted with a log burner as well as central heating. The logburner is easy to light and kindling is supplied.
Q What children’s equipment do you supply?
A There is a high chair, ravel cot, stair gate, changing mat, bed guard, waterproof protective mattress covers, bath mat, 3 wheel pushchair and buggy board, toilet seat, socket guards, plastic cutlery, plastic plates and plastic cups.
There is a good selection of toys, games, books and DVDs to suit different ages to help amuse your children whatever the weather. There is a large garden where kids can safely charge around and let off steam! And there are ride on toys for the toddlers.
Q And for my older children?
A There are goal posts, footballs, rugby balls, frisbees, cricket stumps and other outdoor games. And Wifi!
Q Is Windover Farm Cottage a non-smoking property?
A Yes, without exception. However, you are permitted to smoke outside.
Q Is there parking for my car?
A There is a large gravel parking area outside which will comfortably fit two cars. There is more parking available should you need it.
Q How far away is the coast?
A We are 30 – 45 minutes away from various beaches such as Lyme Regis, Sidmouth, Beer and Branscombe.
Q How close are the shops for basic supplies?
A Hemyock has basic supplies with a well-stocked village post office stores and also a Spar. There are supermarkets in Wellington (Waitrose or Adsa) or Honiton (Tesco, Aldi and Lidl). There is a great farm shop at Gittisham on the outskirts of Honiton.
Q Is Windover Farm Cottage within walking distance of the pub?
A We are 1¾ miles from Hemyock village. Lots of folks walk to the village as it is well served with a great pub, village stores and play park for the children. However, most folk would walk in during the day and enjoy a leisurely stroll back.
Q Do you supply welly boots?
A No, we don’t. Most folk enjoy a walk of some length whether it’s to wear out the kids, burn off some extra calories or blow the cob webs away! Therefore stout footwear, walking boots or wellies are a good idea, especially for the kids.
Q Do we need to clean the property before we leave?
A Yes, please. We clean all properties between lets, but PLEASE leave the cottage clean, otherwise we may have a terrible struggle to have it thoroughly clean for the next guests. By accepting our Terms and Booking Conditions you agree to leave the property at the end of your stay in the condition as found on arrival.
Q How do I return the key?
A Simply leave the door unlocked as you found it. Lots of guests like to pop around to say goodbye before they head off.
Q Who do I call if there is a problem out of normal hours?
A The owners, who live next door.
Q What happens if I need to cancel my holiday?
A We strongly advise you to take out holiday insurance to cover your costs in case your plans change and you need to cancel your booking. For our full booking terms and conditions please click here. If you do need to cancel, please do so as far in advance as possible in order to give us the best chance of reletting the cottage.
Please remember, WE STRONGLY ADVISE THAT YOU TAKE OUT HOLIDAY CANCELLATION INSURANCE . Insurance is there to provide protection from the financial risks associated with going on holiday.

Q What if I don’t have transport?
A Each year a handful of guests come and stay who do not have their own transport. They are looking for a complete break away in a rural location. However, please bear in mind that the property is not served by public transport. However, Hemyock is on the bus route. The owners would be pleased to give advice on this matter.
Q What if we’re not happy?
A If you find anything wrong please tell us within 24 hours. If you have difficulties, please do not suffer in silence. We want you to have a lovely, memorable holiday!
